Hosting
Once a website is completed, it is placed on a web server. In most simplistic terms, a web server is a computer that is constantly connected to the Internet. It is this constant connection that makes your website viewable when somebody visits it at anytime, from anywhere in the world.
Providing this service is called hosting. Normally, one web server will host many websites. This serves small websites well and helps to keep the hosting costs to a minimum. However, in certain situations (size, security, privacy), one or more servers can be dedicated to one website.
WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT
GSWS is in a uniquely beneficial position because we own and operate our own web servers. This gives us absolute control of both the hardware and security of our systems, which provides us complete control over the complete
development and managment environment. This means we can do what we want, how we want, whenever we want to.
GSWS provides hosted services, from within a private co-location facility located in San Diego, CA. As a private co-location facility with greater security/access, it is a government secret cleared facility is classified as a UL listed central station for DOD data processing and monitoring.
Additional clients of the facility include governmental agencies, bio-medical facilities, banking institutions, commercial organizations, and others. Network services and operations are monitored and staffed on-site 24x7. All services have multiple Internet providers, backup generators, climate control and are fully tested weekly as per UL requirements.
The facility provides on site support and monitoring 24x7x365 to ensure maximum uptime and customer service. Additionaly, our servers are individually monitored for uptime of specific services, providing a more in-depth control over the services and servers we provide.
